Wednesday the 18th of January the new MiXchangers and a few of the third-year MiXchangers went to a foster home, for some reason on our way to the foster home, I felt slightly nervous. I have never been to a foster home before and I did not know what to expect, I didn’t know if the children would receive me positively, and I didn’t know what I was going to be doing there. Upon arrival, I still had the same feelings however I asked the holy spirit to help me. 

I found myself standing more towards the side and watching the other Mixchangers interact with some of the kids. Out of nowhere comes this beautiful girl named Nelisiwe and I feel a pull toward her. I went to her and we spoke about a school which is unlike me. She told me she struggles the Natural science and I offered to help her with the homework that she was given that day. 

I was learning new whilst helping her understand her homework, she has been on my mind from the day I met her. When I am in an unfamiliar environment I would rather have someone give me clear instructions on what to do so I do not mess up, but the Holy Spirit helped me come out of that shell. And I am very glad he did. I am hoping I will see Nelisiwe in the near future.
